Gaited Horse Training

Whether it be starting a young one or a "tune up" on a seasoned trail horse.  AGT offers quality not quantity in training.  Taking only a limited number of training horses in each month.  Means your horse gets the time that you paid for and ridden by the trainer that you paid for.

With over 35 years in the horse industry Melissa offers her years of experience, knowledge and patience to your horse.  Starting from the ground up making sure your horse understands what is being asked of him and why.

 All natural, no weights or pads are used in gaited horse training.  In fact most of the horses are barefoot!

Believing that a trail horse should be just as trained as any horse, Melissa strives to put "good brakes" on all her horses.  Making sure they are all soft, supple and responsive to your aids.

Training also includes lessons for the horse owner.  It is important for the horse owner to know how to ride their horse.   The way it was trained.  That way every body is happy!  And knowledgeable! And Melissa is always there to help you along the way to success.

Trail Horse Training

 All Gaited and Non Gaited breeds are welcome at AGT.   Melissa may be a gaited horse expert, but she rides all breeds and is experienced with many stock and pleasure breeds.  Here are a few of the breeds she has worked with...AQHA, APHA, Arabian, NSH, Saddle bred, Paso Fino, Appaloosa, TWHBEA, MFT, RMH, SSH, Peruvian Paso, Thoroughbred, Percheron, Mustang and many crosses of the breeds above!

 Trail experience is one service AGT does offer.  Taking those young ones out on their first trail ride can be a bit hairy.  Melissa will expose them to cars, dogs, mail boxes, garbage cans, water, bridges and more! 

CMSA - Gun Breaking

Melissa has introduced gun fire to many horses and offers that as well.  There is a additional charge  due to the use of amo for this.  Melissa Competes at Cowboy Mounted Shooting and has gun broke many horses!
